CLASS 5A QUOTES
CLASS 5A QUOTES
Homestead Head Coach Cary Cavacini
"They are a very good ball club. We couldn't get our defense off the field and they got a little tired."
"I think our kids did a great job. We just ran up against somebody who was better than us tonight."
"Rex Grossman is a tremendous player but he doesn't take away from the rest of the players on the team. They are all very talented."
"Bloomington South is a great team. Their offensive line doesn't get enough credit, along with their defense. There wasn't anything that surprised me what Grossman did, or the rest of the team tonight."
"We thought we could run on them and we did in the first quarter. After that, we got out of sinc a little."
Homestead Quarterback Kelly Disser
"They have a good defense and every one of their players are fast. I got caught from behind and that doesn't happen very often. We had momentum, they stepped it up and got momentum and never looked back."
Homestead Center Manley Glick
"We played to the best of our ability, but we didn't come out on top. It helped winning the award a little bit. I thank my coaches and teammates as being part of the award."
Bloomington South Head Coach Mo Moriarity
"Give our kids a lot of credit. We lost in the Championship game here by one point last year. They dedicated themselves to get back and out motto and slogan was 'Unfinished Business.'"
"This was typical of our team, we get behind early and then we have to fight back."
"We had a great effort on defense. We stopped them early and they missed the field goal and then we came back and tied them up. After that, (Rex) Grossman unloads the bomb. Then our defense made the big plays."
"Our offense gets a lot of credit with Rex, our receiver and our line. But, our defense doesn't get a lot of credit. They had a lot of quickness and they are relentless."
Moriarity commenting on Grossman, "He's a team player first. He has set a lot of records, but he would rather just be part of the team."
Bloomington South Quarterback Rex Grossman
"I felt him (Ryan Holley) all night. They put pressure on us, but we thought we could go deep on them."
Commenting on the 80-yard touchdown pass, "We thought we could run the post pattern and get deep on them, and we did."
