Suspended Matches
National
Federation Rule 7-1-3 –
a. In the event a game must be suspended because
of conditions (darkness, weather, etc.) which make it impossible to continue
play, the head referee shall declare it an official game if one complete half
or more of the game has been played. If less than one-half of the game has been
played, the game may be continued from the point of interruption at the next
available playing time; that is, a delay may be called or a game suspended
until rescheduled.
b. Suspended
IHSAA Tournament Games – when weather, darkness or similar conditions cause
a game to be called before it is a regulation tournament game, it shall be
considered a suspended game and shall be continued from point of suspension at
a later date. Such IHSAA tournament series games must be rescheduled for the
following playable date and should take precedence.
The
assigned tournament game officials should work in conjunction with the IHSAA
Tournament Site Manger to make all decisions about suspended contests,
restarting a suspended contest and rescheduling a suspended contest.
