IHSAA ENDORSES
“DIGITALSPORTS®” FOR STATEWIDE STATISTICS
The Indiana
High School Athletic Association has announced its endorsement of DigitalSports®, Inc. as its exclusive athletic
statistics reporting and publishing service beginning in the 2007-08 academic year.
DigitalSports® is a powerful on-line website that greatly simplifies the
process of recording, tabulating, publishing, and accessing comprehensive
sports statistics for everyone involved in amateur athletic leagues. DigitalSports® allows coaches and their statisticians to record and publish
statistics completely on-line. In
addition, DigitalSports® will
soon automatically compile and publish these stats to interested media outlets
throughout the state, meaning student-athletes from all high schools in the
Association will have the opportunity to get the publicity and recognition they
deserve.
“We are
very pleased that DigitalSports®
has chosen to partner with the Association and enhance our ability to collect
and distribute statistics from our member schools,” said IHSAA Communications
Director
In the next
two weeks, member schools will be sent a link,
username and password to access the website and its many features. In addition,
DigitalSports® is committed to
providing the necessary training for those in need of assistance.
“In the
past, we have struggled to get 100% participation in the gathering of state
statistical information for a variety of reasons. I am hopeful that all the coaches in the state
will choose to participate and promote their players, sports, and schools on a
statewide level. A key feature in the
DigitalSports® program is that
the statistics will be displayed by Conference (as well at a statewide level),
thus providing all schools and teams with the means to recognize the efforts of
a large number of student athletes. In the near future, through DigitalSports’
technology, coaches who enter their statistics in the website each week may not
be required to submit weekly statistics to their local media outlets, saving
them valuable time in a busy season,” said Kaufman.
In the
weeks to come, DigitalSports®
will provide opportunities for athletic directors and coaches to learn even
more about the capabilities and benefits they have to offer IHSAA member
schools. Included in the agreement with
DigitalSports is a free one-year membership to LeagueMinder®, an athletic software solution to
manage many of the functions within the athletic office.
“Gaining
the endorsement of the IHSAA is very exciting,” said Mike Hewes, Manager for
LeagueMinder® and DigitalSports®.
“We are currently serving teams and leagues from across the country, but
the IHSAA now joins four other state associations who have formally endorsed
the DigitalSports program for statewide use.
The benefits not only will affect coaches and statisticians, but also
players, families, and fans. We continue
to focus on our mission of recognizing the hard work and accomplishments of “all
kids in all sports.” Use of DigitalSports® is free, supported fully by national, state, and local
sponsors. For more information, visit
the IHSAA website at www.ihsaa.org and
