HAMMOND BISHOP NOLL TAKES HOME CLASS 2A BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Pushing across a run in the second inning was really all Hammond Bishop Noll (21-11) needed as their strong pitching and error-free fielding led the Warriors to a 2-0 victory in the 2004 IHSAA Class 2A Baseball Championship over Wapahani (27-6) at Victory Field on Saturday, June 19, 2004.

Pitching and defense took over for the next several innings, including a strong defensive play on an attempted steal of home by Wapahani left fielder Drayk Duncan (11) in the fifth.

Looking to add more, Bishop Noll loaded the bases with one out in the top of the seventh.  Andy Loomis (12) then walked to force in a run.  Chris Kopp (12) hit into a forceout at home on a ground ball to first and Bobos lined to third, shutting off a potential big inning.
