Park Tudor (16-3) won two key doubles matches allowing the
Panthers to defeat
It was the Panthers’ sixth state tennis championship and first since 2002. Dave Heffern has been the Park Tudor coach for the last five.
Freshman Kishan Shah made quick
work of his
Homestead (18-4) got on the board thanks to senior Greg Dillon’s 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 decision at No. 2 singles before Park Tudor clinched the state title at No. 1 doubles. Will Pearson and Luke Robbins, both seniors, defeated junior Danny Reecer and senior Josh Rifkin, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 as teammates rushed the court to celebrate.
Junior Kent Winingham also won at No. 1 singles for the final margin, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.

Homestead No. 1 singles player
Cameron Huffman was selected by members of the IHSAA Executive Committee as the
winner of the Mental Attitude Award in Boys Tennis.
Huffman was a second team all-state
pick in 2005, was all-district a year ago and has been an all-conference
selection the last three seasons. He served as team captain as a junior and
senior.
Academically, he ranks in the top
15 percent of his graduating class and intends to study pre-med at
