"Promoting education based athletics in Indiana"

Most high school student-athletes play sports for the fun of the game and the fellowship with teammates and coaches. Some hope to continue to compete at the college level, and very few have the opportunity to move on after college and play in the pros.

A statistic I recently heard during a college football game shows how hard it is to make it to the professional level in football. Only 9 out of every 10,000 high school football players get drafted by an NFL team. Less than that actually have an opportunity of making it on a roster.

Regardless of what high school sport you play, making it to a college team is a challenge and then making it to the pros is highly unlikely. That's why playing high school sports for the pleasure of participating, competing and having fun should be your top priority. Anything after high school participation should be considered a great achievement!
