Bloomington South, Carmel Players Win Singles, Doubles Championships
Denise Azcui of Bloomington South and the Carmel doubles team of Molly Fletchall and Emma Love emerged victorious as the winners of the IHSAA Girls Tennis Individual State Tournaments at Park Tudor School in Indianapolis.

Azcui completed a perfect campaign at 22-0 with a straight set win over Greenwood's Jade Kawamoto, 6-4, 6-4, for the singles state championship.

The Bloomington South junior became the first girls player from her school to win the singles title handing Kawamoto (26-1) her only loss of the season. Kawamoto was attempting to join her twin sister as a state champion after Jackie Kawamoto won the tournament a year ago.

Fletchall and Love also finished unbeaten for the year at 23-0 by rallying from a set down to defeat Carroll's (Fort Wayne) Makenzie Schoeff and Taylor Stanchin (29-3), 1-6, 6-1, 6-0.

It was the second championship celebration in a week for Fletchall and Love who were the No. 1 doubles team as Carmel claimed the team title the previous Saturday.
