RONCALLI WINS
FIVE-GAME THRILLER FOR SECOND 3A TITLE
The Roncalli Rebels (32-5) rallied
from behind to come up with a five-game victory, 21-25, 30-32, 25-22, 25-16, 15-9
over Mishawaka Marian (32-8) in the 3A state championship at Hinkle Fieldhouse in
Head coach Kathy Nalley-Schembra’s Rebels grabbed the last three games of the match to claim the school’s second Class 3A volleyball title and third overall.
The Rebels were led by a triple-double performance from senior setter Paige Weber as she finished the match with 11 kills, 40 assists and 15 digs. Senior outside hitter Megan Clements also had a strong match, posting 13 kills to go along with a match-high 21 digs.
Senior outside hitter Emily Libertowski and junior middle blocker Katherine Britton led Mishawaka Marian at the net, posting a match-high 15 kills apiece. Libertowski also led the Knights defensively, adding 18 digs.
Roncalli found its way to the title
match by topping Delta (29-9) in four games in the second 3A semifinal hosted

PAIGE WEBER NAMED MENTAL ATTITUDE WINNER
Paige Weber of
Academically, Weber ranks in the
top seven percent of her senior class taking honors level and college
preparatory classes. She has earned a volleyball scholarship to the
Weber has served as Co-President
of the Spanish Club of which she’s been a member all four years, participated
in the Roncalli Dance Team, the National Honor
Society and also been a mentor in the “A Promise to Keep” Chastity Program at
her school. She has also been a consistent participant in the local Breast
Cancer Run/Walk and assisted in the Lord’s Pantry on Saturday mornings.
Paige is the daughter of Matt and
Teresa Weber of
Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, the
IHSAA’s corporate partner, presented a scholarship
check for $1,000.00 to
