Five Win State Football Titles

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter (A), Heritage Christian (2A), Bellmont (3A), Indianapolis Cathedral (4A) and Center Grove (5A) all won state championships in the first year at Lucas Oil Stadium. The 36th IHSAA State Finals drew a record Saturday crowd of 40,680 to set a new state finals record of 56,050 for the five games.

    Four Crowned in Volleyball

    Muncie Burris won its 12th straight in Class 2A, Marquette Catholic won its fifth consecutive in 1A and Delta (3A) and Indianapolis Cathedral (4A) also won their respective state championships in Muncie on Saturday.     The Indianapolis Colts will host the Preps Pro High School Football Combine at the Colts Training Facility on Sunday, April 19, 2009.     2008-09 IHSAA Centennial Scholarships
    Each year, a minimum of 12 seniors are chosen from applicants throughout the state to receive a $2,500 scholarship for their high school accomplishments. These well-rounded, positive role models have demonstrated excellence in academics, school and community involvement, character, sportsmanship, citizenship and have been nominated by their Principal.     Dr. Thomas A. Brady Comeback Scholarship Award
    The Methodist Sports Medicine Research and Education Foundation is seeking nominations for the Fourth Annual Dr. Thomas A. Brady Comeback Award. This award is unique because it honors both male and female student-athletes at the collegiate and high school level from Indiana who have distinguished themselves’ by overcoming adversity or injury, and returned and excelled beyond expectations in their respective sport(s). Recipients of this award will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
