BOYS TEAM TENNIS ADVANCES TO STATE FINALS

SINGLES/DOUBLES TO REGIONALS

The field is set for the 36th Annual Boys Team Tennis Tournament to be conducted this Saturday, October 19, at North Central (Indpls.) High School, with singles/doubles also set to take to the courts.

12th ranked Homestead, never a champ, but an eight-time runner-up, will open up play against #5 Park Tudor, a four-time winner, the last coming in 1998.  Meanwhile, South Bend St. Joseph’s, ranked 10th this week, a state champion in 1990, takes to the courts to meet #17 Jasper.  The Wildcats won it all in 1999 and were runners-up in 1985 and 1987.  Their girls’ team finished second behind North Central (Indpls.) in this year’s girls state title run.

Play begins Saturday morning at 9:00, with the afternoon session at 2:00.  Results of the day’s action will be posted on the web upon completion at 2002 Boys Tennis Tournament.  For rosters, results and probable lineups for the team state finals, log on to 2002 Boys Tennis Finals Info.

VOLLEYBALL PAIRINGS RELEASED

Pairings for the 31st annual Girls Volleyball Tournament Series were drawn at the IHSAA office on Monday, October 14, and are available online at 2002 Volleyball Tournament Pairings.
