FOOTBALL MOVES TO SEMI-STATES

The 30th Annual IHSAA Football State Tournament moves to the semi-state round this Friday. The complete tourney schedule and scores are available on the IHSAA web at 2002 Football Pairings.  The semi-state lineup by itself is on the web at 2002 Semi-State Pairings.

The state finals will be played at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis on Friday, November 29, and Saturday, November 30.

Defending champions still in contention include Ben Davis (10-3) in 5A.  The Giants will play host to Center Grove (12-1), a team they lost to 17-16 on September 21, their third and final loss of the season. 4A defending state titlist Jasper (11-2) will be on the road, playing at Roncalli (8-4).  In 3A, last year’s winner, Indianapolis Chatard (13-0), heads for Heritage Hills (13-0).  The 2A winner from 2001-02, Fort Wayne Luers (10-3), is home to North Judson (13-0).

The latest football statistics through week thirteen of the 2002 season are updated as they are reported to the IHSAA by the respective schools and compiled on the web at 2002 Football Leaders.
