GALYAN’S COACHES CLUB ANNOUNCED

Galyan’s, which operates 43 stores in 19 states, with 6 stores in Indiana, and has been headquartered in Plainfield, Indiana since its inception in 1960, has announced the creation of the Galyan’s Coaches Club.

The Club, which has no membership fees or other hidden charges, is an effort by the company to extend some specific benefits to the coaching staffs of each high school in the state.  Packets containing complete information, along with an official registration form and money-saving coupons, have been mailed to the schools.

Galyan’s is one of the new corporate partners of the IHSAA and is the organization’s official sporting goods retailer.

Cranfill & Company, marketing agency for the Indiana High School Athletic Association, has announced a name and location change, effective immediately.

After 43 years on the Indianapolis advertising scene, the company, which is in the forefront of the promotion of the IHSAA’s ongoing centennial celebration, has changed its name to three-sixty group and has moved into new offices in the Century Building at 36 South Pennsylvania Street, Suite 190, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46204.  The telephone and fax numbers remain the same.

Company president David Cranfill has announced that Scott Willy, an associate with the company for the past 16 years, has become a partner in the organization.

Associated Sports Productions, Inc., which handles the radio-television rights for the IHSAA, will also move to that new location.

LEADERS THE SAME IN LATEST A.P. BOYS BASKETBALL POLLS

LAWRENCE NORTH STILL #1 IN IBCA RANKINGS

A number of contests, including an array of  tourneys helped shuffler any number of positions in the latest polls from the Associated Press and the Indiana High School Basketball Coaches Association, but had no effect on those clubs laying claim to the No. 1 positions.

Lawrence North (10-1) holds down the top spot in the Indiana High School Basketball Coaches Association all-inclusive poll, as well as the No. 1 slot in the A.P. Class 4A poll.

New names in this week’s A.P.polls included Anderson (4A), Indianapolis Arlington (4A), Tippecanoe Valley (3A), Lebanon (3A), Fort Wayne Concordia (3A), Western (3A), Jimtown (2A), Garrett (2A) and Loogootee (A).  Bloomington South (4A), Jasper (3A), Indianapolis Chatard (3A), Leo (3A), Gary Roosevelt (3A), Frankton (2A), North Montgomery (2A) and Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian (A) all moved out of the top-10.  New arrivals on the IBCA scene were Anderson (#12) and Brownsburg (#20), with Lake Central and LaPorte dropping by the wayside.
