Medtronic Physio-Control,
manufacturer of the Lifepak CR Plus defibrillator, is
assisting the Campaign by providing special pricing for schools during the
three month Campaign, in order that they may obtain the defibrillator in an
effort to reduce the possibility of deaths by
The Campaign is endeavoring
to assist in securing portable defibrillators for every high school in the
state, according to Campaign Chair Joan SerVaas, Vice
President of the Children’s Better Health Institute, who was present for the
presentation to the commissioner.
Joining her in that ceremony was American Heart Association Senior
Regional Manager Beverly Turner, Medtronic Vice President Brian Webster and
Indiana Medtronic representative Jon W. Warnock.
Invited to assist in the
Campaign will be members of youth groups sponsored by local community service
organizations, who will be conducting fund raising activities to purchase a
unit for their respective school’s athletic department.
