2004 WOODEN AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

 

Indiana High School Athletic Association Commissioner Blake Ress today announced the recipients of the 2004 John R. Wooden Tradition Scholarships.  Again this year, the IHSAA has been invited by the representatives of John Wooden, Coach Wooden’s family and Dick’s Sporting Goods to work with them in orchestrating the presentation of the awards to four Indiana high school athletes, two girls and two boys.

“The IHSAA is honored to be part of the effort to acknowledge Coach Wooden’s tremendous contribution to this area,” proclaimed Commissioner Ress.

 

This year’s winners are Jordan McClain, Whiteland High School; Elizabeth Otte, Crothersville High School; Drew Schoenian, Northwestern High School; and Jason Toler, North Central (Indianapolis) High School.

 

A $1,000.00 scholarship will be presented to each of the 2004 honorees in ceremonies as part of The Wooden Tradition basketball doubleheader on Saturday, November 27, at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
