IHSAA ANNOUNCES “HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS REPORT”

Indiana High School Athletic Association Commissioner Blake Ress has announced the introduction of a new statewide radio program titled IHSAA High School Sports Report.

The 15-minute show will be updated weekly, showcasing athletes and events throughout the state.  Sports commentator and former coach Bob Lovell will host the show, with input from schools and media outlets throughout Indiana.  The production is designed to be broadcast on Thursday or Friday nights, thus setting the state for another exciting weekend of high school sports.

Associated Sports Productions, Inc., broadcast arm of the IHSAA, will act as the executive producer of the program and, at this time, has announced the commitment of 39 radio outlets to carry the show.

PROJECT XL UNDERWAY FOR 2004-05

Project XL is a creative arts competition by Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, IHSAA corporate partner, allowing high school authors, poets, artists, songwriters, filmmakers and performers the opportunity to express themselves on topics of interest and vital importance to Indiana teenagers.

This is the 16th year that Project XL has invited every Indiana high school student to express himself or herself on a relevant issue. During the 2003-2004 Project XL competition, more than 6,000 students from 245 Indiana high schools and home schools participated in Project XL, taking home $41,500 in scholarship money.

The 2004/2005 Project XL topic is IMAGINATION. Teachers, parents, and students are encouraged to call 1-800-866-1160, extension 7748 for more information about Project XL and to answer questions concerning categories, rules and deadlines, Farm Bureau Insurance drop-off sites, judging the state finals program, or any other aspect of the competition.
