GIRLS GOLF TOURNAMENT TEES OFF THIS WEEK

The 32nd Annual IHSAA Girls Golf Tournament Series will get underway this Friday with competition at 21 sectional sites.  Regional play is slated for September 25, with the state finals on October 1-2 at The Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin.

Hamilton Southeastern is the defending state champion and will compete in the Brebeuf Jesuit Sectional.  Coached by Nancy Nuce, the Royals captured their first-ever girls golf title, turning in a 669 team total, some 13 shots better than runner-up Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger.  Freshman Emily Johnson of Warsaw was the 2003 medalist, firing rounds of 72-76—148.  The Tigers will host sectional tournament action.

The sectional assignments of teams are on the web at 2004 IHSAA Girls Golf Tournament.  For sectional course sites and times, log on to 2004 Girls Golf Sectional Sites.
