GIRLS GOLF TOURNAMENT STATE FINALS FRIDAY-SATURDAY

The 32nd Annual IHSAA Girls Golf Tournament Series moves to the state championship rounds this Friday and Saturday, October 1-2, at The Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin.  Admission will be $5.00, each day.

 

Emily Johnson (10), Warsaw, last year’s medalist, will tee off in the 8:45 group from the 10th tee.  Johnson fired a 71 during Saturday’s regional round, earning medalist honors at East Noble.


Leo turned in the lowest team score, also at East Noble on the Cobblestone Course, with a 317.

 

There are ­­­eight former state champions in the 2004 field:  Yorktown (1976); LaPorte (1978); Carmel (1980); Noblesville (1986-87); Seymour (1989); Martinsville (1991-92-93-95-96-97-98-99-00); Penn (1994-02); and Western (2001).

Scores will be updated on the IHSAA website through Golfstat in three-hole increments throughout both days.

 

…..Second Day

Following the first day’s play, the field will be cut to include the top-nine teams, plus any team within 12 strokes of the lead, along with the top-nine individuals, excluding those individuals who advance with a team, plus any individual within four strokes of the lead.

BOYS TENNIS TOURNEY TAKES TO COURTS THURSDAY

The 38th Annual IHSAA Boys Tennis Tournament Series will begin competition on Thursday, September 30, at 64 sites across the state.  Regional tourney action will take place on October 5-6, with the semi-state play slated for October 9 and the state finals on October 16 (team) and October 22-23 (singles-doubles).

 

Munster is the all-time leader in sectional crowns with30, followed by North Central (Indpls) (29); Homestead (26); and Columbus North, Jasper, Richmond (24).  A history of former sectional winners is available on the IHSAA website under IHSAA Boys Tennis.

2004 SOCCER TOURNEY PAIRINGS

The drawing for the 2004 boys and girls soccer tournaments will be conducted at the IHSAA offices tomorrow, Wednesday, September 29, at 8:00 a.m.  Once completed, the pairings will be placed on the IHSAA website under Boys Soccer and Girls Soccer.

 

The 2004 tournaments get underway October 11 (girls) and 12 (boys), with the state finals scheduled for October 30.

Pairings for the 32nd Annual IHSAA Football Tournament Series will be conducted Monday, October 4, at 7:00 p.m. at Galyans in Castleton Square, Indianapolis.  Once completed, the draw will be placed on the IHSAA website under Boys Football.

 

The draw will be broadcast statewide on the IHSAA Radio Network.  The list of outlets where the broadcasts are available is on the IHSAA website at 2004 IHSAA Football Radio Network.
