BOYS TENNIS TOURNEY SET FOR REGIONAL/SEMI-STATE PLAY

Regional tourney action in the 38th Annual IHSAA Boys Tennis Tournament Series will take place on October 5-6, with the semi-state play slated for Saturday, October 9, and the state finals on October 16 (team) and October 22-23 (singles-doubles).

 

Last year’s team state champions, Carmel, will meet Lawrence Central in the North Central (Indpls.) Regional.  The 2003 runner-up, West Lafayette, continues on, hosting regional play and meeting North Montgomery

2004 SOCCER TOURNEY PAIRINGS SET

The drawing for the 2004 boys and girls soccer tournaments was conducted at the IHSAA offices on September 29.  The results of the blind draw have been placed on the IHSAA website under 2004 IHSAA Boys Soccer Pairings and 2004 IHSAA Girls Soccer Pairings.

 

The defending girls state champ, Carmel, will begin play against Lebanon in the Hamilton Southeastern sectional.  The defending boys titlist, South Bend St. Joseph’s, opens up competition in the South Bend Adams sectional against South Bend Washington.

 

The 2004 tournaments get underway next Monday, October 11 (girls) and Tuesday, October 12 (boys), with the regionals scheduled for October 19 (girls) and 20 (boys), with the semi-states on October 23 and the state finals on October 30.

2004 IHSAA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT PAIRINGS COMPLETED

Pairings for the 32nd Annual IHSAA Football Tournament Series were held October 4 at Galyans in Castleton Square, Indianapolis.  That draw for the 311 participating teams is now on the IHSAA website, in HTML format under 2004 IHSAA Football Pairings-HTML or in bracket form at 2004 IHSAA Football Pairings-Brackets.

 

This year’s tournament will begin Friday, October 22, and continue on to the state finals on November 26-27 at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.

2004 VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT PAIRINGS NEXT MONDAY

The draw for the 334d Annual IHSAA Volleyball Tournament Series is slated for next Monday, October 11, at 8:00 a.m. at the IHSAA offices.  When the pairings are finalized, they will be placed on the IHSAA website.

 

The state tourney gets underway on October 21 with sectional play.  The state finals will be conducted November 6.

A “heads-up” to the fact that the girls and boys cross country tournament will begin one week from today, Tuesday, October 12, at 32 sectional sites across the state.  The state finals will be held on Saturday, October 30 at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute.
