LAWRENCE NORTH BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM TO PLAY ON ESPN2 NEXT WEEK

The Lawrence North boys basketball team will meet Dayton Dunbar (Ohio) on Thursday, Dec. 8 in a game played on national television. The game, advertised as the Old Spice Red Zone Showcase, will be played at 7:30 p.m. EST at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The two-time defending Class 4A state champion Wildcats feature 7-0 center Greg Oden and 6-1 guard Mike Conley, both seniors, while Dunbar counters with 6-4 senior shooting guard Daequan Cook. All three players have signed to play collegiately at Ohio State and are considered among the top high school players in the country.

On Thursday, Jan. 19, ESPN2 will also telecast the Lawrence North at North Central of Indianapolis game. That game will mark the third time in the last two seasons the Wildcats have appeared in a nationally-televised game on ESPN2. Last Dec. 9, Lawrence North topped Poplar Bluff (Mo.), 56-40, at Hinkle Fieldhouse in a game broadcast by the cable network.
