TERRE HAUTE TO HOST IHSAA CROSS COUNTRY FINALS THROUGH 2011

Commissioner Blake Ress announced today a five-year agreement, in principle, with Terre Haute North High School and the Terre Haute Convention & Visitors Bureau to host the IHSAA Cross Country State Finals.

The agreement calls for the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course and the Wabash Valley Sports Center to serve as the host site for the event through 2011.

The venue has served as the site of the state championship races each of the last three years and has also hosted the NCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s Championships in four of the last five seasons.

The date for next year’s championship girls and boys races is October 27, 2007.

“The LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course is an outstanding venue for cross country and the Terre Haute community have been excellent hosts to the IHSAA State Championships the last few years,” said IHSAA Commissioner Blake Ress. “We are pleased to be able to continue this relationship through 2011.”
