IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (12/1/25)
"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"
In college football right now, there are many schools going through coaching changes. Although this is nothing new, there does seem to be more movement this year than in years past.
At all levels of sports, however, coaching changes are part of the culture. I am sure if you have played sports for three or four years at your high school, you have seen coaching changes as well.
As a student-athlete it is natural for you to get comfortable with your coaches. You know what to expect in practice, games or matches, and in the off-season. You fall into a pattern that you are familiar with. You know the coach, the assistants, the trainers and you know the routines.
If you experience the change in one of those key positions, you will learn to adapt. You will likely be led in a different manner, and you can grow from the experience. Be respectful and be open to the new ideas and strategies. Learning to grow from change will help you throughout your life!
