IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (3/2/26)
"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"
High school athletics provides plenty of excitement and anticipation during the regular season, but nothing compares to sectional week. Regardless of your sport, the rivalries gear up. This week just happens to start boys' basketball sectionals, which I have attended my entire life.
During sectional week, it's a new season, all or nothing. Win or go home. The team's record doesn't matter. There may be upsets and story lines throughout the state. Stars will be born. History may be made. The crowds are larger. The school and community come together and show support for their local team. The teams have only a short period of time to prepare for their opponent. The practice and competition all season long lead to this moment and challenge.
Regardless of the sport, make the effort to support your school, your team, your community. If you are participating, represent your school and community in a way that makes you proud, regardless of the outcome. In the end, only one team can come out on top!
