IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (3/5/24)

"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"

All student-athletes go through tough times during their sports season.  It could be from stressful games, tough practices, injuries, illness or trying to rejuvenate a tired or sore body.

Of course, the toughest time is when the season comes to an end.  The final loss can hurt so much that it makes the trials and tribulations of the season look trivial.  You may have even wondered was all the pain or difficulty worth it?

As an underclassman, you have the next year to look forward to and work toward.  As a senior, the end of the season brings the end of your high school sports career.

The life lessons you learn from sports will end up being more important to you than that last game/match/event in high school.  All those challenges you faced during your sports carer will prepare you for the life challenges you will be facing in the future.  While it seems important at the time, don't let that one loss (or victory) ever define you!
