IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (9/15/25)

"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"

 

Most things that we do in life are the result of habits we have formed.  Make no doubt that sports are a game of habits as well.  In other words, what you practice, how you practice and what you do on a daily basis will help determine how successful you will be during your sports season.

Consider the habits you have developed over the years for your sport.  Are your workouts regular and challenging?  Are you always looking for ways to learn more and improve?  Are you willing to put in the time to become the athlete you aspire to be?

Most habits you can control.  That includes getting the proper amount of sleep, eating the right foods, keeping up with your school assignments and managing your time.  

Whether you are currently in your sports season or not, now is the time to examine your habits--good or bad--and make the necessary adjustments that will make you a better student- athlete and teammate.
